A Legend has Passed…
I just found out the Zig Ziglar died today of pneumonia at age 86. It’s a sad day. For those of you that don’t know who that is…he was a legend.
Before Tony Robbins and Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra…there was Zig Ziglar. Motivating the heck out of people. One of my favorite Zig Ziglar quotes was this:
“You can have anything you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want in life!”
He believed it…and so do I.
If you never got a chance to hear him speak, he’s all over YouTube. Take a few moments and take in his wisdom. These guys don’t come around very often. I put a link that you might want to send to your staff at the bottom of this blog post. It’s enlightening.
Anyway, I was planning on writing on another subject today but I thought that it would do a disservice to his memory to combine the thoughts.
Earlier this year my Dad was diagnosed with throat cancer and I have to say that it caught us all by surprise. He is 77 today (Happy Birthday Dad) and after 4 months of chemotherapy…he is back on the mend.
When things like that happen…it reminds all of us that we have only a short time on this planet. Be grateful.
I laughed the other day when someone started complaining about how “every person in the United States is responsible for $45k of the National Debt…its irresponsible!”. I guess he got that number by multiplying $16 trillion dollars by 330 million people (give or take a few million).
To which I say…if someone were to say to me…
I’ll put you in the safest place in the world, with running water and great plumbing, the strongest military to protect you, highway access to anywhere you want to go, the cheapest energy in the world, freedom to say and do whatever you want, the cheapest and best food supply on earth, emergency help just 3 numbers away (911) and the best health care system in the world…
But you will be in debt $45k…
You would have 7 Billion people lined up to take that deal.
Be Grateful…
and Rest in Peace Zig Ziglar!
P.S. Here is the video
As always, aim high…and dream even higher…
Steve Sampson
I have been a fan of Zig Ziglar for about fifty some years. I have almost a complete a set of his tapes (not CD’s) and played them every morning on my way to work (45 min. ride). He was a great motivator who helped me become more than I could have on my own. He has some wonderful stories but one of his earlier storyies I loved the most is about a fatherless boy who was bullied by his peers and made to feel worthless. The boy wandered in to a meeting where the speaker noticed him standing alone, asked what his name is and who his father is. He said he did not have a father. The speaker said that he had a lot to live up to because he was a son of God.
I will forever be thankful for Zig Zigler. May he rest in peace.

You had an earlier newsletter that had a shoking subject line. I reminded my granddaughter that just took over the newsletters.
So she wrote: Subject: Guess What’s New?
Not fancy, but we had a 25% increase in OPENS
